Deal Music & Arts Festival 2024

The Deal and Walmer Handelian Society is pleased to have been asked to take part in this year's Deal Music & Arts Festival. Together with the Betteshanger Colliery Welfare Band, we will be presenting a lively programme including brass band music and popular choruses.

Founded in 1932, Betteshanger Brass has been central in the lives of its members and local audiences through world war and immense industrial change. Their concert with the Handelians, founded in 1946, brings together two much-loved local institutions.

We will be performing on the last day of the festival (14th July) @ 2.00pm at Betteshanger Sports and Social Club, Welfare Sports Ground, Cavell Square, Deal CT14 9HR

Repertoire

The Deal and Walmer Handelian Choral Society is a choir of all ages and voices; what brings us together is an enjoyment of singing sacred and secular music from a range of composers, classical and modern. We aim to perform three times a year and choir rehearsals are focused on these performances.

Whilst the original object of the Society was to perform Handel’s works, its repertoire has expanded over the years to include the works of other composers.
