Robert began training as an organist while a chorister at Canterbury Cathedral under Dr Sydney Campbell, going on to be Organ Scholar at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge.

After leaving university, he worked almost entirely in the theatre as a musical director, orchestrator and keyboard player for shows such as Jesus Christ Superstar, Me and My Girl, Evita, Chicago, Chess, Kiss Me, Kate, The Lion King and Crazy for You. He has now been the Assistant Organist at St Clement’s, Sandwich for some time, and has more recently become the accompanist for Dover Choral Society.

In addition, he maintains an interest in the theatre organ, regularly attending the American Theatre Organ Society’s annual conventions.
